  • Get through a difficult time (bereavement, separation, post-partum, employment)

  • Restore sleep (difficulty falling asleep, insomnia)

  • Overcome existential distress (self-loathing, depression)

  • Deal with a behavioral disorder (obsessions, compulsions)

Get out of helplessness

If you're suffering from the situation you're in, if you're determined to make a difference, you've probably tried your best. And if nothing has changed despite your efforts, you may no longer know where to start. Rest assured, we'll look at all of this together, with kindness, without judgment, and in complete confidentiality. By focusing pragmatically on your current difficulties, brief therapy will help you cope and break the impasse.

An interactive approach to therapy

As you may already be aware, understanding why a problem exists isn't necessarily enough to solve it. For things to change, it's not enough to think differently—you have to act differently. The therapies I offer are therefore action-oriented. They combine Palo Alto's Systemic and Strategic Approach, Hypnosis, NLP, Emotional Regulation, and Narrative Therapy. To be specific, therapy revolves around interactive dialogues during sessions and actions to implement in your daily life to anchor the change you are seeking.

Alone, as a couple or as a family, it often takes 3 to 10 sessions to unblock a difficult situation. I do not determine the number of sessions in advance because I do not use a ready-made protocol, and some people progress more quickly than others. Even if improvements are quickly noticeable, it is useful to then ensure that the change will be sustainable. Naturally, therapy can be extended at your request if you wish to address further subjects. In my office in Nice, or online by video call, sessions generally take place every two weeks, and are spaced out when things improve.

The benefits of Brief Therapy

  • Ease the pain resulting from difficulties encountered

  • Heal your wounds and improve your relationship with yourself (body, emotions, thoughts, past, etc.)

  • Improve your relationships (romantic, family, professional, etc.)

  • Break down repetitive patterns and vicious circles

  • Take back control of your life and find the motivation to move forward

Going to therapy doesn't necessarily mean embarking on an analysis that will last for years. Brief therapy is one-off support aimed at freeing oneself from a psychological, behavioral, or relational difficulty that is poisoning one's life. Why continue to struggle alone when you suffer looking in the mirror, going to school or work, within your couple or family, or even facing the future? Whatever your situation, there is always room for maneuver to get through it. With empathy, flexibility, and method, I can help you find your way through.

My vision of therapy

Marc (39 years old)

Life as a couple isn't always a bed of roses... Because of old grudges, my wife and I were in constant conflict; it was hell. Emilie and I put things on the table and were finally able to move on. I recommend brief therapy for couples who are tired of going around in circles!

Carol (42 years old)

What a relief to find someone to talk to in English ! I came to Paris for work and my kids were having difficulty adjusting to things. Emilie has been of great help, easy to talk to and available for each and all of us. Thanks to her practical advice, we quickly found a way to enter a new, positive dynamic as a family.

Mila (23 years old)

I've always been hypersensitive; I'd burst into tears at any time. Emilie gently helped me realize that I was carrying things that weren't mine. I stopped feeling responsible for everything, and I feel much lighter.

Erica (46 years old)

We went to couples therapy, but it was initially our son who had an appointment for problems at school. Mrs. Lacape asked to see his father and me. We'd been yelling at each other for years, and our son was suffering... He quickly regained his balance. And we took responsibility.

Anne (39 years old)

I consulted Emilie remotely. I was familiar with the Palo Alto approach and its effectiveness. I had become an insomniac and felt like I'd tried everything. I quickly got back to sleep. Then we discussed my relationships with men... A lot of things changed.

Norbert (43 years old)

I had online therapy with Emilie. I couldn't sleep anymore, I was on the verge of burnout, it was becoming urgent to get out of this anxiety about work issues. I appreciated her practical and effective advice, which allowed me to get back on track and find a healthier position toward work.
